File a Claim

If you believe that inadvertent damage was cause to your property by JXN Water while performing its work and repairs or reimbursement are warranted, please read the following information and follow the mentioned steps.

In 2023, United States District Court Judge Henry Wingate issued special orders appointing Ted Henifin as the Interim Third-Party Manager (ITPM) of the City of Jackson’s water and sewer systems.  In accordance with these orders, Mr. Henifin created JXN Water as the entity through which he would implement the work of the ITPM. As residents have likely seen, JXN Water teams have been working diligently to repair and properly operate the water and sewer systems.

If you believe that inadvertent damage was caused to your property by JXN Water while performing its work and repairs or reimbursement are warranted, you may submit a claim to JXN Water via email at [email protected]. Your claim will be reviewed, and you will receive a prompt response.  To help JXN Water better evaluate your claim, please provide as much information as possible including the type of property, description of the damage or loss, relevant date(s), and any supporting documentation available, such as videos, photos, receipts, repair estimates, and proof of ownership for damaged items.

Before submission of any claim, it is important to understand that the scope of JXN Water’s authority and its potential liability is limited by the orders appointing the ITPM. More specifically, the ITPM via JXN Water is tasked with investigating issues with the public water and sewer system. The ITPM’s authority, however, is limited to repairing issues on public property. If there are issues with private service lines to the public water and/or sewer systems, it is the property owner’s responsibility to repair and resolve. All claims will be evaluated; however, submission of a claim does not guarantee repair or reimbursement.
