The JXN Water Academy is a unique learning opportunity designed specifically for JXN Water customers. Participants will learn about water and sewer management and have direct interaction with water experts. It’s a way for customers to take a proactive role in their community and contribute to sustainable water practices for Jackson.

Academy Schedule

JXN Water will offer the academy each quarter, and participants will complete the entire program within
three months.

  • Eligibility: Participants must be current JXN Water customers in good standing.
  • Application: Any customer can apply to the academy.
  • Participant Toolkit: To guide your learning, you will receive an activity booklet, handouts for each lesson, and fun academy items, such as a          T-shirt.
  • Session Structure: The academy will take place over three meetings, with each session lasting a few hours.
  • Credit for Participation: To receive credit for participation, participants must complete the entire program.
  • Plant Visit: At the end of the academy, participants will have the opportunity to visit the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plant, getting behind-the-scenes access and insights into water treatment operations.

What You’ll Learn

Over the course of three meetings, the academy will cover five key topics:

  • Introduction to Our Mission and Operating Water Infrastructure
  • Water Quality and Resource Management
  • Water Operations and Distribution at O.B. Curtis and J.H. Fewell Water Plants
  • Wastewater Services and Maintaining Sewer Systems
  • Billing and Customer Service

The JXN Water Academy will also offer training specific to landlords and business and restaurant owners.
